Welcome to DRC
Since 1945 — Built by Volunteers.
The Duluth Retriever Club is one of Minnesota's oldest retriever clubs and the first in the nation to earn 501(c)3 nonprofit status. We are 100% volunteer run. Everything we do goes back into the sport and the community that makes it possible.
Who We Are
We are a group of men and women of all ages and backgrounds, with one thing in common: a love of retrievers and the outdoors.
We believe in accessible sport.
Most amateur trainers don't own 200 acres of cleared land with technical water. The DRC grounds provide local trainers and handlers access to the specialized property that advanced retriever training demands.
We've kept up as the sport has evolved.
Dogs have gotten better, and competition more demanding. As the sport has grown, so have our grounds, through deliberate property enhancements made by volunteers who believed in the club's future.
We're building for future generations.
Some of our members are the children and grandchildren of members who trained here decades ago. As the Duluth area grows and land is developed, spaces like ours become increasingly important. We intend to keep ours exceptional for future dog trainers.
